Al Jazeera Apologizes for guest's Criticism of Beheadings

Al Jazeera apology for guest remark

(Al Jazeera)..."In a statement on Wednesday, Al Jazeera expressed its "deepest apologies" for comments made by Wafa Sultan, a Syrian-born US-based academic, which "offended Islam"... The statement did not say what offensive remarks had been made in the programme."

Here is the interview video. The host and an anti-American guest spewed false statistics condemning Christianity. Another guest, Sultan, proved this wrong and said that Islam, as a political entity, should accept criticism like every other religion instead of chopping off people's heads. The anti-Americans were speechless.

"Any religion that chops off the heads of its critics is doomed to turn into terrorism and tyranny... Westerners who read the words of the Prophet Mohammad: "Allah has given me sustenance under the shadow of my sword" cannot imagine Mohammad's turban in the shape of a dove, rather in the shape of a bomb... Islam is not a religion but politics... they want to be martyred and meet their black-eyed virgins."

Usually I don't cover TV media, but only hotair seems to expose this. Someone finally tells it like it is, and Al Jazeera censors them, because it "insults Islam."

I have few remarks about this issue. AlJazeera didn't apologize because Wafa Sultan criticized the beheadings, but it apologized because the lady insulted the Muslim holy book, the Koran, their prophet, and their religion. She said Islam is not a religion but a political movement. She also said Gaza children and women deserve to be annihilated.
Unfortunately, Memri.org is doing great job at editing that video and giving only the excerpts that sound like criticism to Islam and Muslims , but not the sequences where she insults Muslims and put all Muslims in one basket, both Qaeda and ordinary Muslims.
I recommend you read this article that sheds light on Wafa Sultan and to a lesser degree Memri http://adilski.blogspot.com/2008/03/wafa-sultan-reformist-or-opportunist.html.
