Salt Lake Tribune Doesn't Mention Gay Mormon-Bashers Are Ex-Mormons

Prop 8 inspires new army of Utah activists

Rosemary Winters of the Salt Lake Tribune reports on Jacob Whipple, who represents a "national phenomenon" of gays who are protesting Mormons. What the Tribune fails to report is that Whipple was excommunicated from the LDS church after serving a mission. The Tribune also reports on activist Eric Ethington, but fail to mention that he was also ex-communicated.

Tribune mentions that a key speaker at one of the protests, Jeff Key, declared Utah "ground zero." What they didn't mention is that he is a member of the fundamentalist Church of Christ, which I'm assuming is one of the many cult "Church of Christ" offshoots from the Mormon church. He has also spoken at many various anti-Mormon events.

Another activist, Michael Mueller, apparently turns out to be a rabid anti-religion author, webmaster for Root of All Evil. (I think these are the same guy. He's also a registered architect at HKS Architect's, by the way.)

The Tribune suggests that these people popped up on their own, but the truth is that most of them are connected to the Utah Pride Center. It looks like they just called up the organization to get some names, and they happened to be anti or ex-Mormons.
