Boise Examiner Flat Out Lies About Mormon Church

"The Mormon Church is opposed to any legislation conferring any rights to same-sex couples"

So says the Boise Examiner, which cheer leads efforts in Illinois to overthrow the will of the people. They get this from a deceptive article by Chicago Tribune, which claims that the "LDS Church is fighting an anti-gay crusade throughout the nation, targeting any form of equality."

In response to this report, the church stated, "The Church does not object to rights for same-sex couples regarding hospitalization and medical care, fair housing and employment rights, or probate rights, so long as these do not infringe on the integrity of the traditional family or the constitutional rights of churches."

Gay groups have actually lauded the church for supporting some special rights for gay couples. The confidential email from one bishop that spurred Tribune's hateful report doesn't even say anything about removing current rights.

ToTheCenter falsely claims that the email was sent from the temple.

I'm not sure what they're after, but the news media sure seems to have it in for the Mormons. They seem to be the church everyone loves to hate - probably because the church sticks to its moral standards despite popular opinion.
