Police Fire On Anti-Government Protesters During Iran's U.S. Hostage Anniversary

Update... People killed by police in Haft’eh Tir Square

"Obama Pick Either Them Or Us!" That's the chant in this video

The valiant heroes of liberty risked their lives to stand up for America on this holiday. These protesters have nothing to gain except a clear message to America that they stand with us. Obama released a statement about looking to the future and went back to sleep.

Iran held anti-American rallies to mark the 30th anniversary of the hostage takeover of the U.S. embassy, but they were marred by thousands of young protesters who chanted "death to the dictator" and "down with Russia" against Iran's regime.

Police fired tear gas and beat protesters. There is a report of gunfire from police. At least 50 have been arrested. The government harshly threatened against such protests, warning that anyone chanting anything except "death to America" would be punished. NYT quotes Supreme Leader Khamenei as calling protests against the stolen elections "the greatest crime."

Police beat hundreds of peaceful protesters:

State media reported that hundreds of "hooligans" gathered in front of their offices in Tehran. In a video clip, protesters chant: "Russian Embassy - nest of spies." Protests spread to Shiraz, Isfahan, and other cities. Twenty were arrested in Shiraz, reports The Guardian. Prominent human rights defender Hasan Asadi Zaidabadi was arrested yesterday.

Key leaders of the opposition parties have been beaten.

Beaten protesters with head wounds:

An earthquake in southern Iran has left many injured and without power.

Protests are growing by the minute!

Obama has turned his back to the bloody suppression of democracy in Iran again and again. And yet the Iranians I meet in America still love him. I honestly don't know what to say to them. Either you vote for a president who believes in democracy or your don't, and you live with the consequences of your choice. Here the consequence is that Obama heavily sympathizes with the Islamo-fascist regime in Iran and applauds their actions to put down any threats to their power. Patriot protestors in Iran are not only fighting their own brutal dictators, they are fighting the most powerful nations in the world: Russia, China and the United States. God help you all in such an unbalanced fight!

Thank you for this post. I just went of on Facebook about this to an Iranian American who is also outraged, but is a staunch Obama supporter. I don't understand how that's possible. I'm anxious to see how he responds...
