China Hacks Google Gmail Email Accounts

Google is threatening to pull out of China after the Chinese government allegedly hacked Gmail accounts of Chinese human rights workers.

I guess Google's contribution to the great firewall, by blocking any searches in China at the government's discretion, wasn't enough. Google said it will no longer provide censorship for queries in China, although google didn't specifically blame the government.

Searches on for Dalai Lama appear to be uncensored. Tiananmen Square is still censored, however.

Google said dozens of "advocates of human rights in China", were "routinely accessed by third parties". I wonder if they happened to wake up dead the next morning?
