Associated cover-up: Iran Vote Anniversary 'Passes Quietly'

AP: Anniversary of disputed Iran vote passes quietly

"The one-year anniversary of Iran's disputed election passed quietly Saturday with little more than a subdued Internet appeal by opposition leaders for supporters to speak out on the Web against government repression.

The truth is, over 100 pro-democracy protesters were arrested by the brutal Iranian regime in spread bloody clashes. AFP and NYT repeated the false report that there were no clashes.

AP admits later in the article that there were "sporadic but minor clashes" according to witnesses. ABC reports, however, at least 1000 protesters at Tehran University. AP also fails to mention the intense military presence all around Tehran, as seen in the above image from Mehdi Saharkhiz.

Protests continued into the night and at the World Cup.
