Romney About Even With Perry... In Texas

Romney is now polling with around the same margin against Obama, as Perry is in Perry's home state of Texas. Perry is 7% ahead of Obama and Romney is 6% ahead of Obama. Bush won Texas with 61% of the vote in 2004, and even McCain garnered 54% in 2008. With such low numbers, it looks likely that Perry would lose his home state, one of the most conservative states in the nation, in a general election. Wow.

  • Rick Perry 51% [45%] (45%)
  • Barack Obama 44% [47%] (45%)

  • Mitt Romney 47% [50%] (49%)
  • Barack Obama 41% [42%] (42%)

  • Ron Paul 43% [45%]
  • Barack Obama 42% [40%]

  • PPP poll. "Survey of 569 Texas voters was conducted September 15-18, 2011. The margin of error is +/- 4.1 percentage points. Party ID breakdown: 44% [44%] (42%) Republican; 36% [35%] (31%) Democrat; 20% [21%] (27%) Independent/Other. Political ideology: 26% [29%] Moderate; 26% [26%] Somewhat conservative; 23% [26%] Very conservative; 14% [13%] Somewhat liberal; 10% [6%] Very liberal. Results from the poll conducted June 25-27, 2011 are in square brackets." More...

You won't see this poll on any "conservative" blog, Fox News, or liberal media.

Ha! I love that Perry bombed in the debate last night. Now people are beginning to see what this guy is all about--and it's not conservative!
