England's The Daily Mail stooped to a new disgusting low in their bigoted headline of a murder.
You're a s*** and a w****: The abusive emails sent by ‘sexually deviant Mormon stabbed to death 27 times by his ex-girlfriend’
Jodi Arias is on trial for the murder of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander. Both happened to be Mormon. Out of 82,000 emails that the couple had exchanged, The Daily Mail chooses one during their break-up in which he called her a "slut" and "whore" to label him as "abusive".
The charge that he was 'sexually deviant' is completely without evidence. The article reports that Arias' defense attempted "to paint him as a sexual deviant." Arias' defense lawyer called the victim controlling and possessive, even though friends say she was the one stalking him and he only wanted to get away from her. The couple had a sexual relationship but there was no compelling reason to believe that it was deviant.
Arias changed her story three times, initially claiming that she knew nothing of the murder, then claiming that masked men stormed the house and committed the murder, and then claiming she committed the killing in self-defense. Alexander was stabbed 27 times, had his throat cut ear to ear, and then was shot in the head.
Daily Mail reports half a dozen more times that Alexander was a Mormon. Daily Mail seems obsessed with it, even though it has nothing to do with anything.
This isn't the first time Daily Mail stepped into controversy with bigoted bias. Poles in England went to the Press Complaints Commission over anti-Polish bigotry in the Daily's reporting. The Daily is frequently criticized for its anti-Muslim and anti-Chinese slant.
Daily Mail also frequently attacks Mormons. The hysteria over the LDS church peaked as Mitt Romney ran for president, with ridiculous stories like why leaving the Mormon church is Sexy.
